i have to say I think Q4 is one of the best FPS games ive played in years, one of the best ive ever played, been playing for the past 2 hours now and im hooked, currently at the bit where the big spiders come after you.

Id agree; Quake 4 > Half Life 2, but then I preferred Doom 3 to Half Life 2 also. Quake 4 reminds me a lot of Halo in certain places and the graphics are just amazing. It has got some dissapointing reviews though so obviously not everyone likes it. Got me though, but as we know the real test is once we finish it will we come back to it again? Iv already gone back to some of the bits iv played through and I havent even finished it yet (love the landing of the MCC and wandering round the ship), one of the best PC fps games iv played in a long time. :)

Nawh I don't really like quake 4 much in terms of story, for all I care, me good guys, the boimech fags are the bad ones.

I kill them, the end:p.


But HL2, I somewhat care about the story etc.

gotta say after playing thru q4, i ont think i changed from the machine gun thru the entire game that much. bar the odd rocket onslaught into bosses, it was always scope mg for me, heashots took the beasties down quick enough for me.

tho scoped rg to the head was fun too :). not a bad little time waster that was tbh. lookin forward to giving mp a good go too tho it does need instagib railguns tbh.

So I'm gonna have to disagree with this, simply because HL2 doesnt crash my pc when i load the game :) I've yet to see the quake menu.... hell i dont even see any intro movies or ****, I see the little splash screen, monitor switches mode, and I end up seeing the POST screen :(

I need a new pc :(

Only prob im having so far is it doenst seem to want to run the audio in X-FI mode, but neither does BF2 so im assuming thats something Creative need to sort.

fixed the sound problem, now its perfect :D, that is untill HL2 addon and stalker ;)

TBH its hard to say, ill tell you once ive finished it and played it through again, 2 totaly different games, Q4 does seem more fun but HL2 has a better story to it.
