memory probs

turn on pc. idles for about 10 mins while i hoover. running some mp3s, come back to my pc and its dirty and sluggish.

wtf is that all about? according to my task manager, the highest allocated memory is to irc and it had 8mb. few others had like 4 or 5 mb. wtf is up?

closed steam which apparently was only using between 0 and 1 % cpu and only had 1.7 mb allocated to it. now pc running smooth as peanut butter (the smooth sort, not the one with chunks of peanut in it)
