Dirt 2 initial impressions
Its no where near as good as Dirt was, its a good game and tbh they should have called it Dirt X Games.
It's good but not as good as Dirt, just doesn't "feel" like a proper rally game.
Oh and it doesn't look like you can compare laptimes on the fly with mates.
It feels like they have watered it down a bit to appeal to a wider audience and flog more copys.
Possibly another dumbed down console game, worrying trend I think.
Dont let that put you off though, as a racing game its not bad and well worth a play, its just for me not a worthy follow up to Dirt so far and really should have been given a different name to reflect the large deviation from the first game.
All in all so far, good fun but not a true rally game.

Another thing and I hope some one can confirm / tell me to stfu on this, it doesn't sound as realistic as dirt? Dunno how to explain that, just try and see.

My suspicions were correct, this is Drid. That's not a bad thing, but at the moment I've only played one rally stage. There seems to be more competitive racing than Dirt, but it should be LOL is multiplayer, especially if the AI is anything to go by.
Presentation wise, it looks the ****. It's ridiculously polished and it's got tons of unlockables / rewardables. I'm absolutely loving it at the moment.
You say it's not a true rally game, but neither was Dirt. It was an off-road game which had a lot of rally in.

Yea but at least Dirt tried to give a true rally experience and a lot of the handling ect was pretty spot on, this is more a arcadey game, still good but not as good as Dirt was imo.

Been playing this today using the wheel, I'm happy to add this to my "list of games that are <jenkees>really really fun</jenkees> when used with the wheel"
They seem to have fixed the "light and airy" problem that the wheel suffered in Dirt1
